Honoured president, Dear Lecturers and students, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon,

It gives me enormous pleasure to be here at Heilongjang University to celebrate with you your 70th Anniversary. First of all, I would like to on behalf of all of university representatives from all over the world to extend our sincerely congratulations to Heilongjiang University 70th anniversary.

Heilongjiang University is an opened university which is high valued the wide-ranging of international exchange and cooperation, and ranked in the top 100 among the 2,000 universities and colleges in China all along. The university has signed exchanged agreements with 120 universities and research institutes from over 30 countries, and built up friendly inter-school relations with 140 universities worldwide. So far, nearly 10,000 international students have been admitted to Heilongjiang University. I really appreciate achievements made by Heilongjiang University in international exchange and cooperation.

The University of Bradford has worked with Heilongjiang University for many years and you are one of our most valued partners in China. We have had the pleasure of welcoming students from Heilongjiang to the University of Bradford for more than ten years and you are one of our oldest and most trusted partners. I have also had the pleasure of welcoming senior delegations from the University to Bradford and I am very pleased to be here today to express my thanks and best wishes. The fact that I have chosen to visit your University on what is my very first visit to China as a vice Chancellor is for me a source of particular pleasure.

I am confident that the University will continue to grow and develop in the way that it has in its first seventy years. I look forward to continuing to build strong, mutually-beneficial and respectful partnerships between our two Universities. I have great pleasure in congratulating you on such a distinguished and strong record in your first seventy years. The University of Bradford is delighted to be able to be here to show in person the high regard in which we hold Heilogjang University. I thank you for your invitation to these celebrations – it is a privilege and a pleasure to be here.

We wish your 70th Anniversary a complete success and well for the future.

尊敬的校长先生，女士们，先生们，老师们、同学们，大家下午好：

我很荣幸能够应邀参加黑龙江大学七十华诞庆典，首先我谨代表来自世界各地的高校代表对黑龙江大学建校七十周年庆典表示诚挚的祝贺。

黑龙江大学一直坚持开放式办学，高度重视开展国际合作与交流，在中国两千余所普通高等院校中一直位居百强之列。黑龙江大学已与世界三十多个国家的一百二十余所大学及科研机构等签署了交流协议，同全球一百四十余所大学建立了校际友好关系，培养了来自世界各地的外国留学生一万余人。我对于黑龙江大学在国际交流与合作中所取得的成就深感钦佩。

布拉德福德大学与黑龙江大学已合作多年，黑龙江大学是我校在中国最重要的合作伙伴之一，是与我们合作最久、最值得信赖的合作伙伴，十几年来我们一直十分高兴接收来自黑龙江大学的学生到布拉德福德大学学习，我本人也曾有幸接待过来自黑龙江大学的高层代表团访问我校。我十分荣幸今天能有机会在此表达我的感谢和祝福。事实上，这是我以校长身份第一次访问中国，访问黑龙江大学，这让我感到万分荣幸。

我相信黑龙江大学将会沿着七十年来所走过的道路继续发展和成长。我期待我们两校间这种强有力的、互惠互利并相互尊重的伙伴关系延续下去。对于黑龙江大学在它的第一个七十年间所取得的辉煌成绩我表示衷心的祝贺。再次为布拉德福德大学能够受邀，我本人能亲自来此参加黑龙江大学校庆表示感谢并深感荣幸。
